What crews ask before they try it
Is there a free trial?
Yes — 14 days of the full version. No credit card and no account: you download the app, enter your name and email on first launch, and the trial starts. There is no separate trial build; it's the same app you'd buy.
What happens when the trial ends?
The app switches to read-only. You can still open, read and export your projects — you just can't save changes until you enter a license key. Your files are never locked away from you.
Do I need a credit card for the trial?
No. We don't collect card details for the trial, so nothing can charge you automatically. When the 14 days are up, the app simply goes read-only.
Can I trial it on more than one computer?
One trial per computer.
Is this a subscription?
No. Scriptease is sold as a one-time license for $99.99 USD.
Do I need a screenplay to use it?
No. You can budget, schedule, break down and generate paperwork with no script at all — build a scene list by hand, or write and import a screenplay later. It's the same project either way.
Does it handle TV series?

Do I need internet all the time?
No. You need a connection once — to start the trial, and again to activate a license once you buy. After that Scriptease works fully offline, and your projects stay on your own disk either way.

How do updates work?
The app checks the official update feed and downloads signed release artifacts from our distribution domain.
Where is my license key?
Your key appears on the checkout confirmation page and in your receipt email from LemonSqueezy.
What happens if I change computers?
You can deactivate an old machine and activate a new one within your license activation limits.
